I have you penned down for a week between Thailand and Ghana.... Early July, maybe!??
I have to seriously think all this out!!!
The Chicago Blues Festival (I am planning on grad school in the windy city, baby!!! OH YES!!! The more I learn, the more I love!!!) is June 9-12. The very first night, there's a Blues Poetry Reading. Fate, I tell you.
But I only want a couple-few nights in Chicago. I want to see if I like the place, the people, and the campus.

Yesh... the Monkey Tour (if I do the volunteer program... I may not for Ghana...) is July 11th. The next volunteer program begins five days later. I'd kinda like to use my money a little more wisely...
I mean... linger about for five days when I'm not getting any pay!??
Or am I just being silly, and denying myself some great experiences... it IS just money, ain't it!??... and maybe I could work at a hostel a few days.... ....
I need to hire someone to help me plan all these things!!! LOL.

WOW!!!
Okay, listen, you have my PO Box, you have GOT to send me postcards from all these places. That'd be incredible.

It might be more to your advantage at this point to seek freelance newspaper work (I'm so brain-washed that every time I try to type "newspaper" the word "newsday" comes out ). You get to write the occasional article (which would be ideal in your situation), and are more likely to tapped for a full-time position when it becomes available.

Aye, Lady P... I'll send you p.c.'s, love!!!
Shea, one of the two newspapers I've sent my resume to is... for freelance work.
YEEEHAH!!!
...Wish I'd done it earlier, in a way. But it's all just absolutely right, all of it.
The two months abroad for Thailand, Lady P's, Ghana, and Peru will cost me a fortune... but I think it will be worth it. I really do.
I will have to get cracking on writing that fellowship application. Perhaps I CAN get the $2500. That would help.
But for now, I must get some rest.
I've realised this evening that I can't remember the last time I watched more than ten minutes of tv at one time while at home. It's obvious I've had sufficient time to relax when I get to the point of turning on the tube!!!
My brother was singing parts of an M&Ms commercial tonight. And I thought he was making it up!!!
....oooo... I'm getting pretty excited about being abroad. I have a lot of applications to fill out...
