Ask me about perfect love, and I won't hesitate to declare that it exists! I know it first-hand; in fact I think the smell of it is still in my hair.
I've carried perfect love; it has carried me. I feel like I've mothered it, rocked it to sleep as many times as it has mothered me, rocked me to sleep. I feel I've awakened it to laughter as much as it has awakened me to laughter.
But perfect timing. Perfect setting. Perfect freedom. That is something else.
You've told me, without blinking, that it's time to stop waiting for you. But I think I've no choice but to continue to imagine at least once a day that you'll suddenly show up. I'll do the many things I want to do; deeds and travels you have reminded me I must do; but in some ways they are just a means of providing various scenarios in which it is possible for you to return to me.
You think I've been waiting and wondering for a very long time. But that's not all true. Ask me about perfect love. I may lose the words under the tears that overtake me, but it's obvious-- I know it exists. I never doubted after first meeting you. And neither did you.

love in general is an imperfect emotion..it is selfish, jealous, possesive and quickly fades again..the love we mostly come across anyway.real love..which i am yet to find is totally selfless..the day i love those i love enough to let them go ill know ive found it

How about love of life? I think I've experienced that many times, and for extended periods. Life is such a gift, and there are always a few more packages of it waiting to be opened. .

Love...don't talk to me about love.
Love is sacrifice, love is putting someone else before yourself.
Love is giving of yourself, until it hurts, then giving more.
Love is all-powerful, consuming, highly emotional and tiring.
I'm taking a break from love, until I am whole again.

No sad tears, please; spare the heartbreak smileys. Things ain't perfect but I know I'm stinkin' luckier than most. Or at least, let me think that!!!
Part of me feels I've been trying life after life after life after life to gain this knowledge, to have this lesson....
I love finding myself during random moments, suddenly laughing or going "Mmmm."
Love of life, yes, indeed. Willingness to give up everything for someone else. Yes.
Good to see all of you about!!!

Hi Dragonfly, what a gorgeous piece of prose.
You are always so open to emotion and ready to grab life, its great to see. I need a bit of inspiration like you at the moment!

We *all* need inspiration. Fortunately, the people who possess it seem so willing to share it and spr4ead it around.

Yeah... grand silly fools, us muses be!!!
Glad I am inspiring others. You DO have to live life!!! Like Yul Brenner said... something about not wanting to get hurt in love is like going to the finest restaurant, enjoying the best meal, and then complaining about the check when it comes.
As for me being open to every emotion!?? That's not true, though it may seem it. Something that I had to work on was feeling less. Then I had to work on not being completely closed off.
There are a range of emotions I resist-- ones that I have a problem with: fear, anger, sadness, loss. I go gut-out for their opposites. Which may not always be healthy.

Emotions are difficult things, they can leap on us with no warning. Or avoid us for ages. You never know whats going to happen next with them, or I don't anyway!

OOO!!!!.... kinda exciting, isn't it!?? At least for me, anyway, since I'm cute no matter what emotion I'm experiencing.
Heh heh.

I've been told I'm adorable when I'm angry. But that person hasn't seen me irate...
That person is also weird!!!

I doubt that I'm cute when I'm angry.
That's one reason I'd just as soon not be angry very often. However, we have a custodian at work who delights in making everybody mad at him.
