Hello, I'm your friendly local <./>ACE</.> (Which stands for assistant community editor) the welcoming commitee for h2g2. smiley - smiley So, <./>Welcome</.>!
I'm a real person, not a machine, so I can help you and if you find that you have a question. For instance, if you want to know what to do with a piece of writing you've just cooked up, I'd be happy to help you with that. No question is too big or too small.

As you have probably discovered, there are lots of things to do on h2g2. Try clicking on some of the links below to find your way around smiley - smiley.

smiley - tea One thing you might find interesting that's going on right now is the h2g2 Presidential election. One of my friends, Hypatia, is running - A5645531. Please Consider voting for her.

smiley - tea Some of the slang thrown around the forums of this site can be rather confusing, but it's all defined at A754490

smiley - tea If you need a general introduction, you can find it at <./>Dontpanic-tour</.> and A719840

smiley - tea Browse the Edited Guide at C889. The Edited Guide is for non-fiction entries, which must fit into the Writing-Guidelines. That isn't to say they're boring though. There's a lot of humor in them and many of the entries are very interesting. Newer entries can be found on the <./>FrontPage</.> and at the <./>month</.> page.

smiley - tea If you want to help further our dream of a strong, interesting Guide by writing such an entry, please read over the Writing-Guidelines. When you're ready to submit an entry, let me know and I'll help you to the best of my abilities.

smiley - tea If fiction or general creative writing are your field, then you'll find yourself at home at the h2g2 Alternative Writing Workshop - <./>RF5</.>. The h2g2 <./>UnderGuide</.> and other groups collect quality entries from there to show them to the world.

smiley - tea Another good place for the reading and writing of creative works is <./>ThePost</.> smiley - thepost

If you have any questions, just click 'Reply' and I'll do my best to help you smiley - ok I'm fairly experienced around these parts, so there's a pretty good chance that I will at least be able to answer a question or ask someone 'in the know'. I hope, anyway. smiley - smiley

Lastly, remember that the most important thing is to enjoy yourself. smiley - rainbow

Greetings and Aloha Jodan-Hypatia,
Mahalo for the welcome. What a wonderful, though slightly overwhelming site. I am just getting my feet wet going through some of the interesting tidbits you have on just about everything. I shall have my towel close by so as not to feel intimidated.
I am considering responding to the Oahu Posting, it hasn't been updated since 2003, and, well, it is the island on which I have lived, worked, raised my kids, etc. for the last 25 years.
I am looking forward to becoming an active participant in the community and meeting many of you. I enjoy reading the
the mini bios of the members, and will definitely include more information on myself in the near future.
Me ke aloha pumehana (warm love and appreication)

Excellent smiley - smiley You live in Hawaii? What a great, interesting place to live that must be. I live in Ohio... which I like, but must seem quite dull by way of comparison.

It is a bit overwhelming isn't it? I felt that way when I first arrived here too. If you want some help updating information about your home in the guide, let me know. I have a bit of experience in that field smiley - ok

Aloha,
I will accept your offer and am excited to be a part of this, I also enjoyed Hypatia's post, I too love gardening, hawaii is one big garden, the scent of flowers are everywhere, in the early morn when the dew falls the air is redolent with the scent of gardenias, jasmine, ginger, etc.smiley - cheerup In some areas of course there are the scents of certain herbs for which hawaii is famous ( or infamous) for as well. smiley - winkeye
I offer to you an invitation to my little grass shack , a cup of Kona coffeesmiley - tea and a slice of Haupia cakesmiley - cake ( cake made with real coconut milk) So you and Hypatia, hele on down to my place, and as we say hawaiian style, let's have coffee time and talk story.smiley - cheers
