Oh yeah, Aldi Bolton this evening managed to restore my faith in the dying art that is known as customer service.

Not only did I get a full refund, I told them what happened yesterday at their Tyldesley store. The store manager overheard the conversation, asked me to clarify a few things then immediately got on the phone to Tyldesley to put their manager in his place. Oh and apparently he'll be getting a stern telling off or something stronger in the morning from their head office for not following national procedures.

Result for the little guy!

Livejournal's photo bit is having issues this evening so for the moment this description will have to do. I'll try uploading a photy somewhere else shortly if necessary.

It's smaller than the other one was but
1. It's more a manageable size for me
2. The screen's a lot clearer and the sound quality is a lot better
3. It's got freeview
4. It actually works
5. I can use the computer in proper 1360*768 WIIIIIIIDESCREEEEEEEN rather than the bob awful and headache inducing stretched 1024*768 screen size the other one forced me to use.

Oh and I got an absolute bargain too. The art of haggling certainly isn't dead yet.

I was awarded shopping duty for the 'rents a few weeks ago when they were looking for a new tellybox. Didn't dare do the haggling thing but found 'em a damn cheap shiny one.
