Hi there and welcome to h2g2!
I'm afraid that 1) this isn't PR material and 2) what you're doing is advocating a serious breach of copyright.
Please remove this from PR by clicking on the little 'x' that appears next to the entry's convo on the main PR page.
If you do want to write for the Edited Guide I suggest looking at the Writing-Guidelines.

It would not be a breach of copyright as there is nothing wrong with copying a webpage on to a computer so you can view it. If you then share it you are breaching the authors copyright but not if you are just using it yourself...I think
Any way you are both right, yes that would be the nearest think to a real hitchhikers guide and also yes this article should not be in peer review.

The copyright laws can be a bit hazy about websites but I think that copying the whole of a website this size would be a breach.

yep I'm right i think as it would classify as Fair Dealing. This is a part of the copyright act which allows you to copy individual webpages for personnal use, as long as multiple copies are made or the user doesn't copy an entire website....so in this case he'd only be able to copy edited guide entries for example.
This loop hole in copyright law was written into the law as it needs to exist for the internet to work. Otherwise when a computer takes a cache of a web page the user would be breaching the web pages copyright. Generally copyright stops people shareing information. It doesn't stop an individual taking a single copy.

It's been referred for moderation - people downloading large amounts of this site has crashed it in the past (one person got banned for it I believe).

As far as I know fair dealing only applies to a fixed percentage of any given publication or website. Yes, websites are automatically downloaded to a PC for faster loading, but to view these directly from the cache requires that you are still connected to the internet (unlike in the olden days where it was a literal download which could be viewed offline until it was deleted).

As this is not advocating downloading the entire site at once, we're happy for the entry to be reinstated. However, it's not a suitable entry for the Edited Guide and so we've removed this from Peer Review.
It's a little strange to read a suggestion for getting the 'real Hitchhiker's Guide' simply by downloading the pages of the mobile version of the Edited Guide - which I would have thought was the very thing you're trying to replicate, and which already exists.
Still, I'm glad you like the Guide and hope you can find a more suitable avenue for contributions in the future.
Regards,

seen edited version, it still doesn't fit in the writing guidelines and has a number of errors in it.

For future reference, when you have something in Peer Review (or any other review forum here), the standard thing to do is to simply edit the entry while it's in Peer Review -- there's no need to remove an entry from PR and then resubmit it just because you've made some changes.
That said, it's been made repeatedly clear to you that this entry is simply not appropriate for Peer Review. If you really want to contribute here, you need to become familiar with the Writing-Guidelines and what the Edited Guide is all about.

Actually, Gon-So, this is one of those wonderfully peculiar moments in life where if I - or either of my colleagues - say it is, it actually does make it so.
Just so you know
