h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Hi there - I've started a new page at http://www.h2g2.com/A221202 and I'm looking for contributions to help flesh it out. If there are specific things people do that drive you up the wall, post them to the list there and I'll add them to the collection. It's a little small right now, but I'm sure with help it'll pad out nicely

Urghhh, I can think of a few that drive me up the wall......or that I do which really annoy poeple. try these:
- talk constantly about the 'next millenium', the 'Year 2000' or the 'Y2K'
- people who smoke but never have cigarettes and always bum of other people
- people who start sentences with the word 'Well, personally, I think that....'
- people who send emails with HUGE, silly attachments which take ages to download
- people who send countless emails containing silly jokes (you've already seen) to everyone one their mailing list


Things I do which tend to drive people batty:
- invite people round for tea and then spend hours on the phone to my mum
- eat all the cashew nuts and riasins from the nut mix and leave the horrible peanuts to the others
- play solitaire on the computer whilst on the phone to someone telling you about their life problems (apparently it's very annoying to hear the keys go 'click-click' whilst you're bearing your soul)
- eat biscuits in bed (the crumbs)

Hi there - thanks for your post! I'll include your ideas on the page in the next update. I especially like your 'solitaire' one; yet another reason why I think videophones are a monumentally bad idea. I'm of the opinion that it's best not to know what the person at the other end of the line is doing whilst you're talking to them...

Yeah....especially when you're on the phone naked, picking your toes...and playing solitaire.....I mean, most of the time I'm on the phone, i really wouldn't want people to see what I'm doing.

Two things that annoy me:

People who are so caught up on their phone conversation, they can't be bothered to notice you're right next to them in the other lane.

People who drive for miles with their turn signal on, so you're afraid to pass them.

My favorite way to annoy people:

Smile . The more you smile at someone who is trying to be really angry, the more it pisses them off. It's really fun to watch. Try it.
