In my experience depends on which particular pub is... normally extrication requires the use of a crow bar on the part of the barman, but I think some pubs try to be exceptionally dire so people wanty to get out when time is called... way to deal with them is twice as much then you don't notice. I'm rambling, aren't I? More please!
PS we need a cider smiley! (proper scrumpy)

would i be correct in assuming that something called Scrumpy Jack which they sell down here bears no relationship to real scrumpy, of which i heard legendary stories in my youth about non locals only being served 2 half pints before being refused service (for their own good)?

we really need smileys for a large number of drinks: red and white wine, keg of beer, six pack, cocktail, shot, schnapps,...
The list is almost endless. I might let someone else organise those campaigns though

,
Berrocas are tablets comprising mostly of B vitamins that are particularly handy for after a heavy session of drinking. You drop them in a glass of water and they go all fizzy. Hopefully the noise is not too loud to handle
If you don't have them there must be a local equivalent

It's hot. And I've been annoying everyone by turning up late just when they'd nigh on given up hope of my arrival, or by spending far too long scrutinising coins in an attempt to discern their denomination, or by attempting to pay for everything by traveller's cheques (I will open a Canadian bank account soon, honest, I just haven't got round to it yet) or by any number of interesting methods. I've managed to get lots of free food (which reminds me, the outdoor pursuits society has a barbeque tonight). I'll probably put a fuller account of my trials and tribulations in my journal or in an article.
