Well the night of the big video shoot arrived and it was very exciting.
My nephew is a film producer and he put together a little team of people to shoot the video. The crowd turned up just about the right amount of time after the technical team and they helped literally set the stage.
The song was played again and again while a couple of cameras caught daughter from almost every angle. They then played it again and again to catch the audience and daughter from every angle. They then played it again and again to catch daughter and the audience from every angle. The audience took direction well and did loads of audience type things again and again just so that no piece of audience type stuff was missed, from every angle.
Technically, this is only one part of the video in the can but the rest should be easier involving some location shots. All told the video has taken three and a half hours actual shooting time (couldn't count the planning hours) and no doubt another couple of hours for the shots still to come. The song is some 2.12 mins long ..... go figure?!

Ooooh exciting! You didn't think about using a field near Bangor, did you?
Given all those logistics, I still find it un-credible that Rhianna and her crew just happened to be passing and thought - hey there's a cool filed, let's do the video shoot right here!
But that's another story - when will we see the finished result, and what's it for?

Good morning Bea,
No, Bangor was out. Nephew has a locations/communications arm to his company and I can assure you that no-one just spots a location and starts filming, it involves weeks or even months of forward planning and some considerable money changes hands everyone from site owners to the local police get a slice of the pie.
Anyhow, no bikinis or general sexiness was involved - it was very age appropriate and all done in the best paaaassible taste.
The video is for 'Movin' On' http://www.reverbnation.com/sarahp and I'm hoping it will be finished by this time next month. Post-production editing also takes a while..*tsk*
When it's all finished, polished and posted I'll put up a link and we can all debate how we would have done it differently - directors and artistic types are soooo precious.
Key: Complain about this post
