For a "different" meal, try creating a Marmite sandwich as instructed, but add sliced banana. You will find that the sweet banana taste will compliment the odd Marmite taste and provide a very nutritious and tatsy snack.

That would be a "very" different meal indeed, I feel inclined to try it at a later date, I will post the results when they are complete (or when I recover).
BTW, is it better to be drunk while attempting this recipe?

I don't know if being drunk helps. No-one has ever drank me while I ate a banana and Marmite sandwich.
Nor have I tried alcohol. I surmise it would distort the eclectic flavour of the sandwich. But worth a go just in case.

I havn't seen anywhere marmite and peanut butter sandwhiches, and on toast, ooooooh!! the combination.
My better half prefers crunchy, I prefer smooth. add the peanut butter last, we love eating them on the beach, they are the most "stable" sandwidges doesn't soak in to the bread, the bread doesn't curl up, just fantastic,
funny really didn't like marmite 12 years ago!

Marmite and banana sounds like one of those combinations you'd have to really steel yourself up to try, sounds quite revolting.
Marmite and peanut-butter, on the other hand is yummy!
My other half eats spreads his Marmite on like jam, and tends to leave it as a blob in the middle of the toast, not nicely covering it to the edges; I have a suspicion he has killed his taste buds off as no normal human could possibly stomach it.
Marmite (thinly spread) and lettuce sandwiches are nice as well.

I agree with marmite on peanut butter sandwiches, it enhances the taste greatly. Especially after or during long distance walking when you tend to loose lots of sweat.

A true South African favourite must be Marmite and Cheese!
Just add a slice of cheese to your marmite sandwich, the cheese just gives it a yummy 'zing', try different kinds of cheese until you find you favourite!

We find it's much better with an uncut loaf.
most of the precut bread tends to be pappy because it has to last a few days, surposedly "fresh"
So get down to your local baker

why is peanut butter not as oily as it use to be? when you had started the jar a oily layer use to appear on the top, now it's fairly solid all the way down

Oily peanut butter; a bit off topic, but the reason is...
Step 1. people thought that it was disgusting and/or inconvienient to have the oil floating on the top, or somebody in peanut butter ("What do you do for a living?" -"Oh, I'm in peanut butter") decided they might.
Step 2. Emulsifiers were added to the peanut butter to stop it from seperating.
If you want oil-topped peanut butter, just read the ingredients list and pick the type that only contains peanuts (and possibly salt).
