Dead Phone Update

Managed to contact the phone company from an outside line Saturday afternoon. They sent a guy out to fix my dead phone. He arrived the next morning and found out that my ADSL filter box was broken.
He said that he wasn't an 'ADSL guy' and didn't carry filter boxes with him, and that he'd have a guy come in (some time today) and replace the box.
In the meantime, he said, I would have to make a choice until then: I could have either my phone working, or my ADSL connection, but not both. I thought about it (you bet I did), but decided that having a working phone was a more socially acceptable idea. 
So now my ADSL is busted, and I was unable to surf until getting to work this morning. Talk about 'jones-ing'.
