A very happy Christmas and a terrific 2007 to you all. And now, I'd just like to share the best Christmas card greetings I've had so far.
From Niall, a technician at my beloved Bradford University: 'Merry Christmas, hope that you don't hear the dreaded whoosh! of deadlines flying by too often.' Clearly a man with great taste in sadly deceased authors! 
From Christine, a brilliant young German actress who I directed in the University production of a great satirical play called 'Welcome To Paradise', and who we had to teach to pronounce the 'v' in 'violent' for a key line in the play: 'Merry Christmas Dave, and a violent New Year! I hope it's a good one, with lots of drugs and alcohol and the rest.'
You know, that's given me some ideas for New Year Resolutions...
