Just to let you know, I have recommended your entry and the nice editor types have agreed with my recommendation.
Curious story, I don't know the book at all, but your entry just makes me want to run out and read it.
In your opinion is it worthy of censorship or was it a product of its time?
Congrats.

Thanks very much. I wondered who picked it.
I went and read your journals, and it seems you were a bit nervous about doing your picks. I know what that's like, I've just been made a sub editor and my self confidence has wandered off for a few s somewhere.
I don't think the book deserves censorship, but on the other hand, it's definitely an over 18s story. When it was written, I think things were a little different though.

This was my second set of picks so I wasn't such a blushing virgin this time. It is still a lot harder than I thought to find entries. I am perhaps not being as objective as I should, I am looking firstly for entries which entertain me, then I look at them to see if they meet the guide requirements.

That's one reason why Scout is the only badge I don't have at the moment. Another scout said the same thing as you, that he looked for entries that interested him. I did try to get into a debate about whether that was right or not, but we were a bit drunk, so it didn't get very far.
You should do whatever works for you. On the other hand, if it's a subject that you have no interest in, and yet the entry is entertaining, then that must be a good entry. At least, that's how I'd see it.
I've got my first batch of entries to edit now, but I'm warming up to the idea for a while first.
