Before we go there , let me ask you:
Does your moniker, which suggests the constant practice of bondage, or at least colours the first perception of Mina, the person with an overlay of Mina, the SM goddess, does this ever get in your way?
I myself wanted to start a small conv with you and what do we start with? mock bondage.
Question popped into my head becasue I noticed that for some my own moniker suggests a complete , and it got in my way recently.

I've never found it's been in the way, although it is misunderstood quite a lot. People read it as Mina - Dominatrix. But I'm not too bothered, as I'll have a go at living up to what they think of me.
Sometimes I wonder what newbies that I greet as an ACE think, but if it's an interesting enough name to make them want to start chatting then I don't mind.

When did yours get in the way?

In the Lifetime suspension thread I was in for a while, I was told off topic that my name didn't help my credibility much. I told them I didn't care, and that credib should come from contrib instead of a hi-pitched name but still, the remark stuck. that was the only one time though, and well I can't say I could get much credibility from my contrib in that thread either...

Whoever told you that is a pillock. Or words to that effect. If people can't look past a name (or irl, a face) to what's beneath, then their opinion isn't really worth as much as they think it is. You're quite right, credibility comes from contribution, nothing else.

I think I'd have laughed my head off if someone had said that to me!
