And there was me thinking I'd be the first to tell you! Still, I have a link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbctwo/listings/programme.shtml?day=thursday&service_id=4224&filename=20051006/20051006_2100_4224_32661_50

I don't care even if they say the evidence is inconclusive. It's made a difference to me.

I'm sure it would to J if he could be convinced to take it regularly.

It did make me confident enough to drop his ritalin though - and there's been no 'episodes' since.

smiley - bluefishFrom what I've read, the programme endorses Fish Oils, though grudgingly. I'm certainly glad I've found them!

That's great news Mina. I've got Andrew drinking the (cows) milk in Tescos which states it has Omega 3, as he won't take tablets.

It's not so much that the research casts any doubts, it's just that the daily dosage has to be quite high and taken every day.

I put a link to the research here: F22865?thread=636768 which showed results with 80 percent fish oil and 20 percent evening primrose oil given to children in six capsules (2 x three times a day) with 558mg of EPA and 174mg of DHA and 60mg of GLA.

I take 310mg of EPA, 190mg of DHA and 80mg GLA each day. Out of interest, GB, how much of each is in the milk? Is it special milk or just added to the ordinary stuff they sell? How come it doesn't curdle or taste oily? I think there is Omega 3 in egg yolk too.

GB, you can buy some margerine that has omega three added - I found some in Tesco when I was on holiday - it's dairy free, but I can't see any reason why you can't use it for Andrew if he doesn't like pills?

It's called Pure, and the one you want is the yellow pack (http://www.purespreads.com/home.asp ). Sainsbury don't stock that one unforunately. Otherwise you can get flaxseed oils as oil in bottles - you can add that to his ice cream, or yoghurts, and he won't even notice. It doesn't taste of anything, it's just a bit of a weird feeling to swallow oil. You can also cook with it if you use oil for cooking. http://www.wholehealthmd.com/refshelf/foods_view/1,1523,281,00.html. It's not fish oils, but it's a good source of the same fatty acids.

Omega 3 DHA+EPA = 0.113g per 250ml serving - 25% RDI.
It's called St.Ivel Advance. "Fresh Whole Milk wth Omega 3"

How come it doesn't curdle or taste oily? I don't know...I don't drink it, I use semi-skimmed milk, I bought it for Andrew. I take the tablets.
I have tasted some though, and it tastes alright.

As for that marg, I'm always chucking out tubs of marg because Andrew so rarely has spread, and he won't have mine (low fat) he insists on "Utterly Butterly"

I will look out for the flaxseed oil though, I can always add it to his ice-cream or yogurts as you say smiley - smiley

smiley - ok I know how difficult it can be to feed a kiddy who won't eat much. It's only the last year or so that I've been able to get J to eat different things. He read somewhere that it takes 10 tries to get used to a new taste, so he agrees to try a little tiny bit of most things now.

Sometimes he even likes them! I think that surprises him.

Andrew used to have his school lunch sandwich with a small scraping of marg (Utterly Butterly) but he won't have it now. I have to cut the bun and put in a slice of luncheon meat - it must be so drysmiley - cdouble

But he always eats it, so I'm happy.smiley - smiley
