I have been interested in Christian Rock Music since around 1975! I'm obviously quite a bit older than you. But artist like Larry Norman, and co have been keeping the flame alive. I'm a little out of touch with new artists, but there has always been a following for good christian music, of whatever sort. I'm pleased to see that soemone has the sense to use all the modern media smiley - smiley

Oh Joyful One

Hi! It's great to see other Christian music fans here! I just started an entry here on Christian Rock. It's here somewhere... You mentioned Larry Norman. I met him a couple years ago, and then again a year later...and he remembered me! I was impressed! Let's see if I can run a photo of him with Steve Camp. It this doesn't work, click here: http://pages.prodigy.com/petra/campnorm.jpg

Hi

I'm just trying to remember, if this forum came via your home page Oh Joyful One, it seems an age, since I replied. Still It's great to hear from people with an interest in spreading the gospel, however they do it. Perhaps we'll hear more from each other, I'll certainly be visiting your page soon smiley - smiley

Hmm lots and lots of old people with old christian rockers like Larry Norman who my mum remembers. Possible proof Christian music needs a facelift - Definetly! As for the Musicians who are christians and Christian musicians thing, please let it go. If I was in such a situation I would be inclined to change my mind every second of every day! Delirious are starting to make some headway in showing that Christian bands aren't full of beards and sandals but there is still lots of work to be done. I've written an article in the Christian Rock forum thingy that goes into this in more detail so have a look there. CCM is on the up though, pray it stays that way.

so Christian punk and hardcore isn't exactly CCM but i think it's great to acknowledge that form of ministry,
too, hey? bands like the dingees, mxpx, stavesacre, pep squad etc. certainly have a growing audience
of Christian punks. larry norman is great, too, though.

Thanx it's nice to think that us "oldies" aren't completely out of the running. I think it's great that, whatever your musical tastes, there's Christian music for you to enjoy and use to spread the gospel further. Personally, My tastes range from classical to (some) punk smiley - smiley

You can call me strange (but I wouldn't advise it) but I always thought that it was Contemporary Christian Music. Not a bad article; I was just seeing what other people had written so I wouldn't tread on any toes.

Hermi the Cat

Hey are any of you still accessing the h2g2? I am a relatively recent fan of Christian Rock (what I percieve to be more "rocky" than CCM) and would love to chat with others of like interests.
