Definitely Common Furniture Beetle larvae, but 'sapwood' is the word I was thinking of, and that is present in hardwood and softwood.

Just reading this again, it is looking very good.
It needs a link to A13064924 on the first 'those'.
It will also be good to put paragraph tags inside the list tags in the 'Mistaken for Woodworm' section, like in the 'Do' and 'Don't' sections.
but those are very minor points
