Definitely not an h2g2 bug, but definitely an interesting smiley - huh

I just ha`p`pened across this when googling for the Edited Entry on Inukshuk (my first, BTWsmiley - hero): http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/place-nireland/A950203

It seems the BBC has held on to bits of H2G2.smiley - erm

Is this something to look into?

It looks like BBC Northern Ireland has kept some form of the site: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/place-nireland/c781

How curious.smiley - erm

Just fragments, though. I clicked on front page from the link you supplied and got the tombstone page.

As far as coding goes, I'm smiley - seniorsmiley - geek, quite obsolete in my area of expertise; can't call this a bug, at least not one of ours. It's interesting, isn't it!

I'll pass it on. smiley - ok

I got to my PS on BBC NI by cutting and pasting my U number into the URL. It took me to an incomplete page with my convo list from sometime just before the move. I tried the same with another person's U number and it was an empty page, but no error message.

It seems we were more entangled in the BBC site than we realize even now.smiley - erm

I don't think it's a bug at this end by any means, but it did get me wondering about copyright questions. Does the BBC still have the right to put my work (the Inukshuk entry) up on their page? Or was that right transferred to Not Panicking?smiley - erm

The beeb have still got a stagnant / static copy of h2g2 so that they can use it to forward people through to us here.

There's several forwarding rules / redirections put in place based around the urls. My guess is that they missed this sort smiley - smiley
