reacting to the smell. its the way the head quickly darts from one position to another trying to track down the direction its coming from. my friends have called it meerkatting for years, even people who have given up a long time ago still react unconsciously to the smell

You do realize that these postings date you? I don't care I survived the silly hippies and am resigned that things are the way they are now. Just hope for better things on the other shore.

That may be where the term came from, but none of my friends work in that kind of cubicle set up so I've only ever heard it in relation to smokers. Would a Multigoose be acceptable? I know its not technically correct but it has a nice ring to it.
