Hello again, this entry is basically the "OK Computer - Best Album Ever?" effort, but with a more appropriate title and the correction of mistakes, along with some new links. The actual body of the entry is mostly unchanged.

Good, good.

You don't have to take it out of PR just to make those few changes. It's OK to do them while it's in. In these enlightened days, you are even allowed to change the title of an Entry while it's in PR, which wasn't the case when I was a newbie, let me tell you.

I feel dizzy!

If you do put entries into WW, if you let us know on the thread that you've removed it and put it into PR we can still help out.

The lists of links at the bottom won't survive the editing process, because h2g2 Mobile doesn't turn text into links, so they won't leave that sort of links in.

You can either add the links to the places in the text where the bands etc are mentioned, or you can put them into REFERENCES tags if you like.

YalsonKSA - "I'm glad birthdays don't come round regularly, as I'm not sure I could do that too often."

Cool boots, my friend. I actually listened to 'OK Computer' for the first time in ages the other day, and was amazed how extraordinary it still sounds - the way that Colin Greenwood's bassline on 'Airbag' sounds like computers learning to talk to each other, the background menace of the "That's it sir/You're leaving....." breakdown on 'Paranoid Android', and the way the whole song sounds like it's tired of having to shout above the noise of everything, the bit in 'Exit Music.....' where Thom's voice just goes up, and up, and up, it's a mighty piece of work, and fully deserves every accolade the world can give it. It was about the pinnacle of Radiohead's amazing career, and I don't think they'll ever be able to top it. Anything else would either be a backwards step or a step too far, (as 'Kid A' and everything since has proved.) No-one sounded like them at the time, and although several bands have tried to use their template since, (Muse being the obvious example, although Coldplay's political stance and musical arrangements have occasionally come close,) no-one has managed to replicate the sheer inventiveness and sonic representation of hope and despair of 'OK Computer'. It still blows me away even now. I actually saw them on the tour between 'The Bends' and 'OK Computer', too, and it was one of the most amazing gigs I have ever seen.

Coupla bits:

I seem to recall that 'Lucky' was originally recorded in one day for the 'Warchild' album. It was certainly on a charity record, although how long it took to record and which one may need some research.

Thom Yorke almost drowned making the video for 'Karma Police' in which his space helmet fills with water.

When the lyrics to 'Karma Police' refer to "her Hitler hairdo is making me feel ill/And we have crashed her party," Thom is referring to Margaret Thatcher's fall from grace and the collapse of the Tory party.

Errr, I'm sure there was more, but I can't think what else there was now.

Good entry, though. I'll come back and comb it for any grammatical errors and stuff when I have more time. Good luck with it.

Cheers! I have to say, I didn't know that lyric was a reference to Thatcher but it does actually make sense now I come to think about it.

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.

If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.

Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!
