Hiya Dmitri
I have just applied the image to your recommended article, A87893455 <--- click and go see so I thought I might as well sub it while I was in the area
But my bed is calling, so I'll read it through with wider eyes on the morrow

I love that pic, and I told FWR so.
This is how I get such express service...enticing FWR to prettify my Entries...
Sleep well. Do not smoke any bananas.

All done subbing
I loved this line: "If you want to know the chemical composition of something, it is usually wiser to ask a chemist than a musician."
It's the sort of thing that would have made Ian laugh out loud - I miss him so much
Thanks for making me laugh

Thanks, GB. I'm glad it gave you a laugh. We need one about now.
I believe this is ready to be unleashed on an unsuspecting world.

oh oh oh! I forgot, I have a question/query. Regarding bananas and their "peel" - we call them "skin" - I would peel a banana and smoke *cough* I mean compost, of course, the skin.
You have 4 references to skin and 8 as peel. Shall we make them all uniform, or use the first instance to say peel (US)/skin (UK) or am I splitting a bunch of bananas unnecessarily? Oh dear, I'm suffering from banana-overload, you'll be thinking I've been smoking banana skins next...

Over here, we use peel and skin interchangeably. At least, I do. But I've wandered over so many dialect borders I've lost count.
Feel free to say whatever you think best. I like your idea of saying peel (skin) first, though you don't need to specify US/UK, because US people might say either one.
For instance, we say, 'He slipped on a banana peel.' Down South, we also say, 'banana peeling,' but we're just plain weird.
Just as long as we don't confuse the Brits...

I'll have to have a think, and perhaps a survey among my siblings (will see two today plus an in-law) and my children (far and wide).
Mum says to me "peel me a banana" and "put this banana skin in the bin"...
Her living room smells of banana unless I empty her bit bin daily as she helps herself to a banana when alone.
If I spotted such a thing on the ground, I would be horrified, I was brought up on scary stories about banana skins belonging in the bin as if anyone stood on one chucked on the ground, they're so slippery you'd fall, bang your head and die! I still shudder if I spot even one strip of peeling of banana skin - usually on Tesco's car park from some lazy person who can't be bothered to pick up their litter or too lazy to find a bin.
But the survey will take time so we might as well return this, I'll change the first mention to peel (skin) though

Sounds like a good idea - and a worthwhile piece of original linguistic research!
Banana skins are dangerous - at least, according to the Boy Scouts: A87887272

Thanks!
I composed a video in honour of the occasion:

My musician sister was amused. She thinks having a Leslie on your organ is 'like having a giant bagpipe in your house.'
I'm glad you enjoyed the movie. Georges Melies: a cinema auteur ahead of his time.

I tried to comment on the actual YouTube video - easier than it sounds - not done any commenting in a while so YouTube (indeed, Google hirself) did not recognise me as a patron, asked me to identify myself and log in, I tried, I mean *I* knew who I was, by Mr/Ms Google said it didn't have any record of me () but I could have a text alert if I just enter my email and any old password I could remember. Success! I left a comment at the video...
I can now brag that Google has texted me!
Doesn't take much to make me happy, does it?

And I have just recommended FWR's spiced banana muffins on Facebook to someone looking for recommendations for banana cake, they hopefully will give me some feedback which I'll pass on (they're on my to-do list to bake for myself, I just need a few ingredients...)

I love these weird and wonderful connections in this twilight zone that is my life. I bought some bananas today, too.

Far out, as we used to say.
Nothing wrong with a banana - in fact, the illustration reminded FWR of another story, which will show up in the Christmas issue.
Key: Complain about this post
