I just finished writing a guide entry about something that happened in 1970, when my generation was all about change.

And I checked out what's happening. Got the live feed on Youtube.

A teenager was standing in front of a huge crowd. Unmoving, unspeaking. For six minutes and twenty seconds....

Now a choir is rocking 'The Times They Are Changing.'

Maybe they are?

It might have been because that was a live feed, and the event was over.

I'm sure you can find highlights on Youtube. smiley - smiley

Icy North

Just caught up with this, thanks Dimitri, and thanks, Prof.

What a great speech. I really hope it leads to something. Clearly you're never going to ditch the Second Amendment, but banning automatic weapons should be achievable.

This was played in full on our BBC News channel. Profoundly moving. I agree with Icy, automatic weapons should never make it into the hands of the general public.

I enjoyed a post by a soldier on twitter. He said he'd used an automatic weapon for several years in Afghanistan. Then he added, 'If you need one of these to feel safe in your neighbourhood, perhaps you should re-evaluate your life choices.'
