Dmitri's NaJoPoMo Journal: Freebie Film Tips for November 2012
Dmitri Gheorgheni, Post Editor Started conversation Nov 1, 2012
Here it is, as promised:
November is NaJoPoMo around here. I can't remember exactly what the acronym stands for, but it's something about posting a journal entry every day. You can read all about it at A87773412, Create's NaJoPoMo Project.
This month-long journal is called 'Freebie Film Tips'. Each day, there will be one or more film or video offerings from free sources on the internet.
In other words, something you might want to watch in your copious free time, and won't have to pay anything for, since you've already got an internet connection, or you wouldn't be reading this.
If you want to access the archive, go to A87775924.
For today's entry, click on A87776013 - Punk Bouzouki and Belly Dancing. If you want to talk about punk Greek music, bouzoukis, and/or belly dancing, start a thread at the bottom of that page. Stay offa this journal.
If this is a boring idea, just unsubscribe. Otherwise, you'll get a daily update.
Thanks for helping Create with the November project!

Dear oh dear. Did you just ask people not to post *here*? I fear you've doomed this to be the busiest thread on the site.

Well done Dmitri, I seem to have forgotten what free time is. But one day I am determined to make the most of your treasury here and while away my spare time.
Thanks!

Likewise. I'm intending to have a look at them, but it mightn't always be the day they're posted! But keep them coming!

I'm glad you like the idea. The archive will stay there at A87775924, for whenever you have time.
Some of these films are short, some are long. Today's is just 25 minutes' worth: A87776095.
But you might want to be in an absurd mood.

A87776266 Marcel Duchamp and his Anemic Cinema
He's weird. He's dada. 'Nuff said.
Remember to give yourself a post-hypnotic suggestion to wake up when watching this odd film.

Today's film tip:
A87776338 - Freebie Film Tip #5: Coming Down from the Mountain
The film is 'Down from the Mountain'. It's billed as a documentary, but that only means you get behind-the-scenes footage along with your concert.
Emmylou Harris, Johnny Hartford, Alison Krauss, and a slew of others - including some charming kids - in the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee, singing the music they made for the Coen Brothers' film, 'O Brother, Where Art Thou?'
Those sirens get me every time.
