"one historic one that's not been recognised for hundreds of years"
If nobody recognises it any more, how does anybody know it was done right?

That's easy, it's not considered right if they do it at all. My must have been a reenactor
Only got back to the house at 4.00 am - they cancelled the 10.20 bus, the 11.20 was full, and they refused to run the relief bus for "only" 16 people, so we had to wait until 1.20

Alsace/Elsass Lorraine/Lothringen - same difference if you ask me (but probably not if you ask the locals)
As late as 1880 only 20 percent of the French spoke French, the rest spoke local languages (nope, not dialects, but languages) according to Stephen "QI" Fry
Surprised? Probably not half as surprised as yours truly!
Back to the business at hand: I am glad to hear you were only bruised. This could have gone a lot worse!

Given the fact that all I did was miss my chair sitting down, it's rather bad enough...
And Alsace is a whole lot more mountainous than Lorraine.
