You do know the TV show as a big pile of poo though.
80's poo.
And that Ford should not look like Willy Wonka.
(anyone think Pippin looked a bit like that too?)

Nah, maybe it was just the 80's-ness that got me.
But it didn't look like it should. (repeat to fade about anything where you've read the book first - A754472)

No, I think Pippin looked like Eric Idle.

'It comes in pints? I'm getting one!'
(worried voice from the corner)
'But you've already had a whole half!'

Hmmmmmmmmmm. Pick a number, any number...
A movie could be really good... Chances are, however, that it would be really bad.
It's time for a another good idea/bad idea!
Good Idea: Make a close-to-the-books HHG movie with a great and dedicated director, committed producers, good (non-american) actors. Case in point: The Lord of the Rings movie. Oh, and put John Cleese in somewhere. He'd make a good Max (the entertainer in The Restaurant at the End of the Universe)
Bad Idea:Make an HHG movie directed by George Lucas, with American actors (a Trillian played by Britney Spears springs to mind, and spontaneously kills itself) with lazy and uninterested producers, and anything to do with Disney.
Oh, and to make it a really bad idea, giving Mickey Mouse a guest spot should make the movie smell as the long-forgotten feta cheese at the back of a fridge...

yeah, Julia Roberts... could be, could be.
How about Natlie Portman? After all, she's got experience in space movies...

Trillian should be adult, brunette, and vaguely sensible.

And as well she needs to be hot with a nice rack Else why would Zaphod have been interested?
"Hey doll, this guy bothering you? Why dont you come with me? I'm from a different planet."

Natalie Portman would look good as Trillian, but I'm yet to be convinced that she could handle the quickfire dialogue while maintaining a sense of irony...
How about Jessica "Dark Angel" Alba?
