Nephew Who browsing his guide (pocket size lime coloured)
"I have no feeling to browse all other threats, but I must report:
You 'editors' have created a few broken links!
All smileys throughout this GUIDE point to this page for any explaination about the emoticon they stand for.
I do not really mind that you are turning this GUIDE more and pure brittan, but keep this place consistent please."
Traveller in Time on his head
"Where have they left you tit? Somewhere in the very back?, yes we have seen the page before. I am getting a 'Roffle Roll'? "

I'm not really here Posted Sep 30, 2003
The smileys were moved off the main page because the page was geting too big. It took ages to load, and the amount of smileys on it actually made it very difficult to see them individually. It's much nicer this way - the page loads quickly, and you can go to the categories and have a browse around without waiting such a long time for the page to load. And it's less easy to miss that one crucial smiley that you need.

Nephew Who wondering if any other smilies are missed in action
"Our current research in finding a functional and widely compatible smiley index page has brought some other bugs to the surface.
Tit < > is not the only smiley missing on the animals page
also bluebutterfly < > and orangebutterfly < > are absent.
< <./>A2068193#tit</.> >
< <./>A2068157#bluebutterfly</.> >
< <./>A2067815#orangebutterfly</.> >
Cider < > is not available on the drinks page.
< <./>A2068193#cider</.> >
Bigeyes < > in the top row index has a link to the front page!!
And football < > has been kicked off the miscellaneous page."
< <./>A2068193#football</.> >
Traveller translating:
"He says researchers who does not need the indexing system while they know where to look for these smilies will find them in the explanations down the page.
However it is a failure in the second level of the indexing system. Where the first level is nonsense already!"

SEF Posted Nov 22, 2003
Various smileys didn't have working links before. I don't know if anyone has ever gone through all of them trying to find out. Some might have been broken on the sub-pages since the latest change but I doubt it. The original problem looked like a GuideML/URL usage which had changed when the site moved.
I made my own classification of them all anyway.

Traveller in Time on his head
"First of all sorry for the previous posting if it made your system crash."
Nephew Who using his special visors to see through the smilies
"That is really an nonsense remark, Traveller, if some system crashed by previous posting, they will not beable to read this one.
I have not actually tested any of them. The most are broken anyway.
I checked for the links to be present in the status bar (the bottom line in some browsers)
There seem to be no bugs in the links as generated by the parser."

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
