Roymondo endures hell at The BBC
Liftliker - Share And Enjoy Posted Oct 2, 2007
I implore you, do not watch this show! It's half an hour of your life you will NEVER get back.
Plus, if everyone watches it to see how bad it is the viewing figures will probably justify another series at the licence payer's expense.
All you need to know is, as Roymondo said, it's My Family with added mother-in-law jokes. Oh, and some absolutely toe-curling acting from the children...
Dreadful.

Surely the mother-in-law joke died with Les Dawson?

If only that were the case.
It reminds me a bit of "Three Up Two Down", only diluted to almost homeopathic proportions.

It would be difficult to understate the brilliance of this programme.

In the words of Groucho - I've had a perfectly wonderful evening. But this wasn't it.

It sounds dire, but I know from personal experience the BBC Ticket Unit does have some good stuff too! You just have to check quite often as it changes regularly. http://tickets.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/tickets.cfg/php/enduser/tickets_home.php
In the summer I saw the "That Mitchell and Webb Look", it was a mixture of some live studio sketches and some of the pre-recorded bits. Last week I went to "Live at the Apollo". This was a double recording, one hosted by Jack Dee, the other Jimmy Carr.

I've got the good old email updates from the BBC ticket site; still waiting for confirmation of The Late Edition tickets at the minute. I think I might have left 'em too late.
Really should get along to more Radio 4 stuff: it's a good, cheap night out.

As for That Mithcell & Webb look, I'm envious! They seem natural successors to Fry & Laurie's crown.*
* The Boosh don't count: they're not of this planet.

The Boosh! Now you're talking! I saw them live twice (I just couldn't afford a third time) and elbowed small children out of the way to get a quick chat and an autograph after their Brighton gig.
And although not the same as free tickets, the BBC were kind to us there too. In 2005 we all huddled round the laptop to watch the Series 2 preview showings online a week before they were on TV. Roll on November for Series 3!
