...rub pygmies with butter.
Er, that's not right is it?
...rub the nipples of your boss's daughter.
Hmmm.
...make pancakes in the shape of Gibraltar.
Nah, definitely wrong. It'll come to me.
Anyway, I'm back. New flat, new (rather nippy) broadband connection, off licence a two minute walk away that sells a selection of Wychwood ales () and a gas cooker. No plates, bedding, TV signal or microwave though.
...eat Spangles while picking the mortar?
...mash spuds with the Bishop of Gloucester?
...take umbrage at Janet Street Porter?

It's only been a couple of days! Should he ever wander this way again I think 2legs will be most impressed by the off licence.
BTW I: top marks to Virgin (so far). Modem arrived yesterday, one phone call this afternoon had it activated and everything was up and running in five minutes.
BTW II: after much debate, and against the express wishes of the aforementioned Leggsie, the first tune I whacked on in the flat (always an important decision) was Start Wearing Purple.

Not quite: there is still a lot more stuff in boxes than in draws & cupboards. Pretty much all of it in fact!

Generally, yes (in boxes); specifically, no. For example: my guitar picks are in the little h2g2 film purse type thing from a couple of meets back but I haven't a clue which box they're in. Might even be a rucksack. Hey ho.

Do you have a bed Roymondo? Is there a local takeaway of some sort or other?
I like 2legs comment on delicious torture
Anyway - welcome back.

I have a bed, but nothing to put on it. I think a trip to a local bedding supplier will cure that though (I really, really will try to avoid Argos.)

You've been gone?
Good to see you back, man. Hope you settle in well (I've been here nearly two years and keep finding things I thought I'd lost in the move)
--> it's an automatic 'find *exactly* what I'm looking for compass'

I used to have one of those compasses but I mislaid it somewhere.
Since my initial post this afternoon I have acquired a sauce pan, chopping board and a knife. Most of my clothes are now in a drawers and a wardrobe. This is a vast improvement.

I already inadvertently had one on Tuesday (1 x bottle JD, 1 x bottle Glenmorangie, a bit of 'Strummer' between three of us!)
I reckon the flat can sleep four (two in bed, one on floor, one in kitchen) so the flatwarming would have to be done in shifts. Or the sleeping in hammocks.

Decent pizza place up the road, but the superb pizza place in Camden (they of the surprisingly hot Hot Americano) delivers here apparently. The offie is a Londis but a surprisingly well stocked one (as I say, three Wychwood ales and a bunch of others.) Tube station at the top of the road, cheap (but grotty pub) close to it, better pubs a little further afield, and all still dead handy for Camden Town.

"hmm, you seem to be heading closer to my current exile location on North Finchingley".
Which, oddly enough, is where I'd end up if I were to fall akip on the 134 omnibus.

New flat means need of and .
...or maybe you prefer the traditional house warming a big bowl of porridge?
