Anyone see the inherent contradiction in "*blessings* of liberty" and suggesting that we celebrate Religious Freedom Day in institutions of worship?

I just hope he's got the date right. I mean, what if the Almighty had earmarked this day for some other festival (obviously after entering into negotiations with Hallmark cards first)

I think Bush gives arbitrary speeches like that just to remind America that he is still there, seeing that they'd probably get on better without him.
Although if I were him I would've fired the speech-writer by now. Unless he doesn't have one and writes them all himself... Ah, that's probably it!

This is a country that doesn't allow Religious Education to be taught in their schools. So basically children can not make an informed choice about which religion they would like to or not to worship,

Same with this country - there was a huge outcry in the newspapers about that when the ruling was made.

Religious Freedom Day. Brilliant idea... fantastic. But wait, surely every day should be a religous freedom day? Ah, but then it wouldn't be 'special' and thus not allow the top brass to feel smug.

Mr. G. W. Bush: I put it to you, sir, that it's far too little far too late.

Does this mean that he'll stop bombing Islamic states then?
