Greetings old boy - Redders here. Although I'm presently domiciled in sunny Oklahoma I'm moving to Aberdeen in September. I'm thinking that the next hootoo meetup could feature a few chaps in chap-type attire. I'm thinking medals, military dress, waistcoats and cummerbunds, quaffing and grandiose tales of derring-do. What do you think ?
ps: have you worked out that a Man Called Jello is me yet

What a spiffing idea. Once you get yourself settled in Aberdeen (Aberdeen! do you have a particular liking for dour, torn faced sheep fanciers?) we should discuss this further. Have you been paying attention to the Scottish Researchers Group? They are arranging a meet up in Glasgow in October, which I really must book my flights for. Not much of a likelyhood of many chaps at that one though.

Wilco old boy. Actually I may be down your neck of the woods afore then. Been meaning to mention to you that my UK residence is in Horsell (The Anthony's opposite the Bleak House pub on the A320 leading from Woking to the M25 about 1/4 mile up from the 5 ways roundabout and 1/2 mile shy of the McLaren site). Mrs Red Dog is an Ottershaw gel.
Have to sell up when I move to the far north ! Fancy a brew if I get down ? Pollers is also a Woking chap if I recall correctly.

Pollers certainly used to be a Woking chap, went to school opposite the crematorium apparently. I am well aware of the Bleak House pub, although I have never been in. I use it as a guide on the way to Horsell when battling Martians. Really must drop in some time.
Being a discerning gent, have you by any chance heard of/read Alan Moore's excellent comic series The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen? The current issue actually features The Bleak House.

Popped in to the Bleak House on Saturday night there for a spot of dinner. Really quite nice. Did leave before the band came on though. Attempted to walk from Woking across Horsell Common but got somewhat lost and found Fairoaks Airfield instead.

I know exactly where you went wrong old boy - used to keep some horses up that way a few years ago. If out came out of the common at the Anthony's (at the old closed car park) my house if the first on the right as you walk out to the main road.

Now I do believe it would be good form for a Chap to offer another Chap a place to kip if one were considering attending the Aberdeen meet. All being well and presuming it's organised at a salubrious time to meet my busy business and social agenda, Mrs Red and myself would be honoured if you were to consider staying with us at Chez Rouge for the duration of hosteleries

Well, that is very kind of you old boy. I would have the memsahib in tow if that would change your thoughts. Also need to see what the narrowed down date turns out to be although, if I am not actively booked for the weekend in question, I should be there. Oh, and you may wish to liase with some people who know me at these sort of events to get an idea of what sort of force of nature I am before you fully agree to this.

Being more of a farce of nature myself I am more than willing to entertain the entire Munchers Clan old chap. It would be an honour of the highest order. Course timing is everything - let's hope the Chaps in Glasgow can do the business !

What ho!
Been looking in to Aberdeen in a couple of weeks, when I can keep the thought straight in my head for more than five minutes, and I have decided to take a hotel room for the weekend. I thank you profusely for your kind offer but for a number of reasons including chronic shyness, not wanting to impose on someone I barely know and a sneaking suspicion you may be some form of Mad Axe Murder/Serial Entertainer* we of the Munchkin collective have decided to give you some peace. Still, gives you an excuse to buy me a pint on the day and dispel my worries.
*Not all of the above may be the true reasons.

Can't guarantee I'll be there anyway .... am in the US heading for Asia right now and my plans are in turmoil for the foreseeable future. I'm not offended but I did buy a special axe for the occasion that will now have to be returned
