Hi Mandy. It's nice to hear from you.
Unfortunately, you've submit this little hello message to Peer Review, which means that you want it to go through the Editing process and become part of the Official Guide to the World. A bit of overkill?
If you remove this from Peer Review, your message will still be part of the unofficial guide, and you'll still be able to chat to people here on h2g2.

Hi mandy, Welcome to Peer Review
I see from looking at your space, you've been registered since last May. You should have received an Ace greeting from one of our Aces with useful information about using h2g2. we seem to have over-looked you, I apologise for that.
If you need any help or advice about using h2g2, feel free to ask here, there are others reading this who'll be able to offer assistance too.
As nice your you post is, it's not suitable to submit to Peer review. Which is the first step for Guide Entries heading for the Edited Guide, to find out more you can read Writing-Guidelines or to you can read some that have already been through the Peer Review process by clicking <./>RandomEditedEntry</.>
In the interest of keeping Peer review tidy, please click PeerReview find your Entry on the list, you'll see either a X or Remove link, click that, it will remove your Entry back to your space.

Simul-post as yours was posted 8 minutes ago, it took me more than 8 minutes to type that
In my defence, I had to check the links too

It would be much quicker and easier to post a standardised reply.
I'll go look at similar posts I've made recently, pick the 'best bits' and 'hash' together a standardised reply.

"Hello 'mandypoppins', welcome to this site.
This sister site of GetWriting has a slightly different layout and habits. When a new user registers to H2G2, they are welcomed by an ACE to guide them round.

Hello there!
This is inventive, Emmily. How come one cannot leave a message at someones personal space if they are members of Get Writing? I tried it with Kosh, but in the end I had to jump into an article in Peer Review just to say hello to her ... So does it mean one has to choose either one or the other?

the simple answer is ~ I don't know
With more coming over from Get Writing they'll be more like it.
From an Ace point of view, they don't show up on New Researchers page, so we're not aware of them to offer advice.
Don't know if some kind of solution is in the 'pipe line'

Traveller in Time restricted
"We can leave messgaes on the personal space of GetWriting members. You only have to sign-in to the GetWritig site. That is you have to comply to the rules and regulations of that specific site then you can post (or add entries like 'mandypoppins' did).
Chances are that after closure of the GetWriting site nobody can post to the personal spaces of the Writers anymore. So unless they managed to create entries on another site, like this one, nobody can communicte with them anymore . We are encouraged not to promote them to come over, but as soon as one does we are allowed to welcome them .
As this thread eventually will get back to the entry, it is a good example of the lifebuoy method. "

Hi thanks for the reply. I hope that I can sort myself out. I suppose its same for everybody when they first come in. I'll wonder around and read some stuff and try to make myself at home. thanks again. I suppose you'll hear from me again soon.

Oh, it's not you that has to sort anything out.
I just went to your personal space as it appears in Alabaster on H2G2 and attempted to reply to one of your old journal entries. The stupid site told me that I would have to log in. So I clicked to log in and it told me "welcome back, click here to write a reply". So I did. It cycled me back to the "greetings, unknown hitcher" message. Twice.
Someone at BBC needs to get a clue. A big one.
Telling me just doesn't cut it anymore.
Anyway, !

Traveller in Time counting hits for the bug
"First change to < <./>/dna/getwriting/U740308</.> >, as that is the site you have to sign in to.
We now ( DNA2.5 ) see all personal space messages in our own skin/site, if you have not signed in to the accounts originating site you can not post there. The bug is that you get the page to sign in in your site/skin not in the owners originating site/skin.
There must be a way to formulate this so that it does make sense even if you do not know what I am talking about."

5x5, actually.
But I didn't have this problem with the similar "Sense of Place" situation.
Wonder why? Maybe it was different .
The Beeb used to be more efficient at assimilation.

Traveller in Time thinking of 'the good old days'
"It is the most recent change in the software, making us see all conversations on the 'Personal Space' or 'Portfolio page' or 'Member page' in the skin we started the link from.
In the old days you could only see the 'Personal Space' in your skin, now also the conversations turn into your skin.
