The tag is used in many Approved Entries to move onto a new line. Although is preferred for formatting paragraphs, is needed if you want to format poetry or for a number of other things such as the link lists at the top of University Projects.
At the moment, the does not work quite right; it seems to be ignored in the first line it appears in:
