Hello! (isn't that quick service?)
I'm Kat, Head of the entire Language Thing, just dropping in to welcome you.
Feel free to have a snoop around, introduce yourself on the Speaking Thread.
Currently the department is a little bit dead. I'm trying to work out a few problems that we seem to be having with too many teachers and too few students. Plus of course the fact that it's the holidays.
I'll add you to the list as soon as I can. I'm dreadfully behind with it all just now. Sorry about that everyone.
If you have any questions then don't hesitate to ask here, on the main Language Thing page, or on my PS (U234368).

Pheeeeew! That's a bit quick!
I'll have a good look around all the threads for a while and let you get your breath back.
I had a quick peep at some of the others personal spaces....they all sound terribly dynamic and go-getting types....bit like me really (Ho Ho Ho!).

Can you also apply if you speak dutch by nature?
Ik weet het, de vertalingen zijn af en toe wat krom, maar dat maakt het leven weer wat interessanter...
I know, the translations are a bit skewed every now and then, but that makes life a bit more interesting...

I want to participate too. I do speak Dutch, but never learned to write it properly 8hence the spelling mistakes)...

Ik lees wel, maar dat alleen helpt weinig. Mijn vader stuurt mij delen van het NRC Handelsblad.
I do read, but that alone doesn't help much. My father sends me parts of the NRC Handelsblad.

Het NRC is niet een van de meest eenvoudige kranten, maar wel een van de meest correcte.

Er staat wel veel over architectuur in, en omdat ik van plan ben in Nederland verder te stuuderen kan ik zo goed oefenen.
There are a lot of articles about architecutre, and since I plan to continue studying in the Netherlands I can practice that way.

Snelle correctie: 'stuuderen' is fout gespeld, de juiste spelling is 'studeren' (1 u). Ik besef me dat dit het gevolg kan zijn van een typefout.
Quick correction: 'stuuderen' is incorrectly spelled, it's spelled 'studreen'. I acknowledge that this could be the result of a typo.
