btw, is there anything special about the bit of blue paper? Does it have anything printed on it? If not, and I was late with an essay, I'd be tempted to stick a sheet of blue paper in after it just to confuse the issue...

It has stuff printed on it, along the lines of "Note to markers: any papers above this sheet are LATE and should not be marked."
You could be really evil and stick one in with something that's on time. Make sure it's on top, though.
