Last day of 30

Well, that was my last day of being 30.
I stayed in bed until midday. Then I had a cup of tea and a couple of biscuits, because I'm trying to get rid of the 'waking up' cigarette.
Then I had a cigarette.
After checking my email, I decided I'd better do something special, as I wouldn't be 30 for much longer. So I had a cup of tea while in the shower.
Then I decided I'd better decide what to do with this auspicious day, so I had a cup of tea and a cigarette in the rain. For I am weak. By this time, it was too late to do anything, so I checked my email again, ironed my uniform and went to work.
I did three interviews and drank some more tea. Then I moaned at the chefs and waiting staff a bit about 'standards'. The last bit was great; you get to be really grumpy when you're older than most of them
Then I worked on the bar. The country and western club were in, which, as you can imagine, was incredibly good fun. It was a good job my Private Eye arrived today.
I'm not sure if being 31 will match these tremendous levels of excitement, but I do hope so. We're off to the races tomorrow (I've been busy marking my card with all the horses I intend to lose money on), then we'll be eerily mirroring Psychocandy's birthday celebration by going for a meal at my favourite Mexican restaurant. I shall ensure glasses are raised in your honour, m'dear

I must try that whole tea-in-the-shower thing sometime.

So if yesterday was your last day of 30 - today's your birthday!!
Many congratulations!
Surely a champagne shower is more like it today:
