It's 92cm long! Almost 93cm long!

My spaghetti is longer than yours. The logical thing would be to break it into half, or even into thirds, but I want to boil it intact even if it takes the biggest saucepan.

It seems really awful to break it, when I could have infinitely long spaghetti. Well, not infinite, but just under one metre. Which in spaghetti terms might as well be infinity.

*hoiks out the big stew cauldron*

I wish I had some plum tomatoes too. smiley - drool

There must be a mathematical formula for working out how many fork-twiddles it takes to enfork one strand of metre-long spaghetti.

smiley - laugh You know how you sort of stir it into the boiling water, as the bottom bit softens and you lower it in? I was actually considering standing on a stool to reach the top.

(Then I realised I could just hold it lower down. smiley - dohsmiley - blush)

2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side...

smiley - bigeyessmiley - wow it makes me want to get my pasta roller back out.... if I could find it... and make one even longer... 2 meters! smiley - wow one strand of pasta, per person per serving smiley - laugh - Don't the Italians have a thing, where having really long strands of pasta is seen as really good or something?; kinda demonstrating how good the housewhife/pasta maker is, at making it? I've a feeling I read something, such, a long long while ago, but no idea where... smiley - alienfrownsmiley - book

It came from an odd little corner supermarket I've never been in before. The sort of place that sells newspapers, meat, stationery, string, vegetables, tennis balls...

I'm not actually sure *why* it's so long, or why I bought it. I had plenty of pasta in the house. I just saw the length of it and something snapped in my head, and I went "Ooooh-la-la! I'm having that! smiley - bigeyes"

*lurk*
It's really not my place to join in a thread where men are discussing how long it is.

Stationery, string, vegetables...

Are you sure you didn't get one of those three by mistake? smiley - tongueout

That's reminded me of a Laurel and Hardy film where they drift out to sea on a boat by accident, with a dangerous escaped convict. Stan comes up with the wonderful idea of making him a 'synthetic breakfast' of string spaghetti and oil for coffee. They end up eating it themselves. I'm not sure what they hoped this would do to pacify him!
