Lazy Sundays
KB Started conversation Nov 2, 2014
I do like a good lazy Sunday. The most energetic thing I have done today was to walk about two minutes up the road to buy a paper.
Oh, and make dinner. But that was basically putting a hunk of meat in the oven and letting heat do the rest. And I turned lights on and off a couple of times which, to a strict sabbatarian, would probably constitute "work".
I'm even feeling too lazy to make buns, which, since the dough and filling is all ready to go, wouldn't take a lot of effort.
A day like this would have bored me senseless at one time, but now I rather like it. It must be the fault of those little white hairs I've noticed appearing. (You still have to look very closely for them, mind you!)
That will precipitate two awkward choices. Whether to dye it into a tricolour, or whether to dye my eyebrows black to be like Alistair Darling. http://labourlist.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/darling1.jpg
(That's the first, and likely last, time you'll see me compare myself with him.

It wouldn't happen in Castle Magwitch either.
I love lazy Sundays, the most energetic thing I did today was cheer like a woman possessed when Sergio scored

our weekend was like two sundays due to the 1st November being a bank holiday here.
I did nothing on Saturday outside of... well, nothing. I only watched Strictly and that was it.
On Sunday the weather was lovely so we cycled to the Mönchengladbach stadium to watch the weekends big Bundesliga mach. It was brilliant, the fans were louder and more singy than I've ever known them (seriously, they never stop the actual singing and chanting, the only thing that alters is the volume). I'm very happy to report that
a) my boys won (3:1)
and
ii) I resisted - again - the urge to shout "give us a 'B'!"
and
3) nobody stole the basket off my bike (which happened to a friend who cycled to Hillsborough for a match last year) giving further proof that football here is FAR superior to anything England has to offer.
So stuff that in your pipe (especially the fans) Mr José

Were the out in their usual force? Everytime I've been near a match over there it's looked like they were preparing for Armageddon .
Hey, maybe that's why nobody stole the basket off your bike!

there were police but not many, here in NRW they have a low-key police operation in force (oh, maybe it's finished now) to test the waters. Except at flashpoint matches like the recent Köln/Gladbach free-for-all that resulted in a lot of arests and naval gazing. But then since there is a lot of unrest in Köln anyway, it might have more to do with that.
in any case, we'll probably go to the return Gladbach home match - I'll report back
