I've hit one of those strange, periodical energy slumps again. Usual symptoms - the urge to find somewhere comfortable and lie there indefinitely, coupled with the urge to tell people to eff off regrettably frequently.

How's the marathon training coming along?
Seriously, though, this sounds a leeetle like a symptom of depression. Or it could be what the Germans call "Frühjahrsmüdigkeit".
It's a vicious circle. Inertia = unproductiveness, which makes you even more depressed, lethargic and cross with yourself. Find something to do. Even if it's only making a list of things you ought to be doing.
Hope you don't find my comments intrusive. It's just what came to mind when I brainstormed on reading your OP.

Try some 'tonic' like Klosterfrau --100 herbs in pure alcohol must do something to you-change your brain chemistry but remember a little bit will do you. Would not like to think of what mindset you'd gert if you'd ODed on it.

Depression was my first thought as well.
Here's a brilliant comic/blog on the subject. Even if you don't have depression, it's a very insightful read.

I highly recommend "Dog" and "The Alot", both of which can be found on the sidebar. Once you read about "The Alot" you'll find alots everywhere.
She really needs to make some directory though. She has some excellent comics that you just have to dig through her site to find.

It's not depression, it's..........oh, I'll tell you tomorrow.
No, it's not depression. I can see why you said that because of the way I phrased one bit, in particular - the "lie there indefinitely" bit - but I was trying to be brief and concise because I didn't feel like typing a lot.
I think it might be more to do with a diet that is "good" in the tastebud sense, but not in the health sense, and has lasted for close to three weeks now. I need to eat my routine food again - which is, normally, nutritious and healthy, but there have been several unavoidable interruptions to routine in the past month which meant eating shitty fast food too often. And that's not even counting the magic Indian.
Diabetes is possibly closer to the mark than depression - I need to get back to real food and cooking proper meals.
So as you can deduce from that, "marathon training? What marathon training?"

I know how you feel about the bingeing. After my (albeit delicious) beef broth earlier this week, followed by (again - quite delectable) meatballs the next day, I suddenly rebelled against eating any more meaty stuff - not even a sliver of ham could I face.
A couple of fruity days will be welcome!

For dinner today, tortellini stuffed with mushrooms and scallions with olive oil, and an avocado iced smoothie thing for desert. it's a Vietnamese recipe I picked up somewhere, but I can't remember what its name is.
