h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I've decided what I'm having for dinner tonight. It's a north African dish and it is blooming delectable.

First, heat the pan up to a middling heat, and do your cumin seeds, onion and garlic as usual until it's the lovely golden way.
Second, add your tomatoes (peeled) and a wee birds eye chilli or two. Reduce this down until the toms are the consistency you want in a pasta sauce.
Third, and only when the spicy sauce is perfect, break three eggs into it, and poach them lightly in the gorgeous sauce, until the white turns white but the yolk stays runny.
And finally, juuuust before the eggs are ready, put the basil on top.

This will be droolably delicious. There is a name for this dish, but I can never remember it.

A simple pleasure. I hope it lived up to expectations.

Shakshouka! That's the name I couldn't remember. For some reason it only sticks in my head as "shakey-shakey".

It's meant to be a breakfast dish...but I'm never organised and out of bed early enough to make breakfasts like that!

Mmmmm I've seen that nigella do it as a post-drinkies kebabs alternative- bit risky if you ask me!
