It never entered my mind to do so. She only hugged me as I was driving away again, having been a pall-bearer at her mother's funeral. I don't think she was fully herself.

I am the 5th of 6 children. The ONLY hugging that I ever saw was my parents with my youngest sibling. With me, it was always best to keep somewhat more than arms-length between myself and my mother. Welts and bruises never were appealing.

I 'celebrated' a sort of anniversary in January, with a journal here, but much more on LiveJournal. If I can find it, I could mail it. It doesn't describe most of my youth, but does give a bit of general understanding. If you like.

Just me having more for supper than I should have, because it was still so good. And wishing there was a proper smiley to denote such excesses. I have asked for one, you know. And several others have supported the notion.
