Tim, Sal, Heav: More refugees?

Heav. It's already let you into the website. We know this because you have commented on the flowers in the church. Have you not?
You are not going to find Delwyn's email on the website. But you do have enough information to figure it out. Ani. Keep trying. Totis viribis.

Alright Ani, Ian got there too.
For someone who hasn't worked out the rules of Mornington Crescent ...
Can I give Ian your email?

Hey Ani,
Where did you find the logs? I didn't find any on google.
I shall have to look harder.

Ian. JontheFarmer has arrived and will be needing a Brilliant Genius Prize for figuring the whole thing out. Now Sally proposes that we not be prize gluttons. She has awarded prize for guessing the correct coronation. (That went to me .) And I have awarded a Brilliant Genius Prize to Andy (the little red boat called 'The Invincible Innocent).
Would you be kind enough to award Jon's prize? He has come in on the 'I missed the end of the world' thread. Ani.

Hi Ani, up early, where about are you?
First there was four, now there's eight.
Welcome Jon The Farmer.
Well what are we all going to do when we grow up?

Ian. <> Well hang on to your britches! There's still the Left Behind Parade to plan for the ctmb. After that we can explore Rites of Passage. In fact, I think you should be responsible for Rites of Passage since it's your idea. Ani. Whew! So much to do and so little time. Well at least we can say that we have some goals now. Ani.

Anyone fancy a strop at the CMB mods? They've left a posting alluding to the possibility of another poster indulging in illicit substances (Stephen & the wacky back) Told me they didn't allow that
Maybe they're just too stunned by Ian's drumming and Lynne's dancing.
Ani, have you invited Lynne over, BTW?
Sally

ani ibiishikaa Posted Sep 1, 2004
Sally. I am always up for a good stropping. Where is yon post alluding? Substances? You mean the flotsam and jetsam from the dissolution of the All-Wales End of Physics Float (kebab-shaped)? Or something more sinister? I have not invited Lynne yet. I tend to wait for a lull in the conversation. A moment of truth as it were. A volta. A denouement. Here come the violins. Ani.
BTW: Have you noticed a rather foreboding message from yon Mod which is at the same time both 'new' and 'overstated'? And which appears at the top of our Parade thread?
Tim, Sal, Heav: More refugees?
sally Posted Sep 1, 2004
Hi Ani,
I was just heading in to comment on afore-mentioned foreboding message but, as ever, you're ahead of me
It's on Val Gavin's revelation thread, and it's still there, despite all their ominous messages
We seem to have quite nicely stifled any other discussion on the board today, don't we? Maybe that's why the thread hasn't been pulled yet!
I must post back to Lynne, though. Can't take the credit, it was your idea. (Especially if the mods are on the warpath )
Oh, re alternative message boards - suggestions as to an appropriate domain name to sit it on, would be most welcome. Could we get away with a thread on the CMB - what would folks want to call an alternative? (A purely hypothetical question, obviously )

Yes, I caught that rather peculiar reference to the fleurs du mal on the Revelation thread. Bizarre. But I am not going to resume banging the side of my head. (I am looking quite peculiar these days, with all the lateral compression and my hair sticking straight up)
It's extraordinary that the board closed with 147 posts on the Parade thread and hardly a murmur on any of the others! Do you think the world truly did end for some? One poor soul landed up at the end of the Parade thread with his first post.
As for domain name: I think it only right that we pay tribute to those who have gone before us and, alas, to those who have fallen defending the few virtues remaining to us: The Lads at the Institute. Of course we could call it Legends of Penscynor Wood, but then imagine all the befuddled tourists landing on our site expecting colourful descriptions of Welsh wildlife.
I am not sure that such massive hinting on the ctmb would be productive. I think people rather like the cloak and dagger. But perhaps we should check with Andy and Jon on that. Besides, the central reason-in-common that we have landed here seems to have all gone up in smoke today. An h2g2 Mod has appeared. He didn't pull anything per se. He hid it. I haven't been able to figure out why. At first I thought it was my Gaelic greeting to Jon. But no that's still there. I wonder if it was the post that Ian said went missing last night? Well further sleuthing might be in order...slink slink. Silent as silk she slips into the hills where crows flap irridescent in the dying sun.

Hi Ani,
Phew, that thread was exhausting
I just realised that, despite the ominous greeting at the top of each page, the CMB doesn't actually have 'complain' buttons at the moment. Maybe the mods were so befuddled by the parade that they forgot to read anything else.
Oh yes, h2g2 mods - I thought I'd warned you they still had them over here. It's not the presence of mods per se, though, it's the heavy-handedness and intolerance of linguistic diversity. From what I've seen, hiding errant postings seems to be the standard tactic over here Apparently that gives the opportunity for reinstatement after review. I don't know if they also do complete removals. And I don't know what the posting said, or who it was, do you? It will have been a pretty recent one. And some things shouldn't be left ...

Twas indeed exhausting. Not only did Parade notices appear in my mailbox, but all sorts of bits and pieces for pages back. People reckoning with me after the end of the world, I guess.
Yes. I knew that we have Mods over here. I've just gone to the rules page and read them. Actually they seem fair, specific enough to be useful, and clear.
The bottom line is that whoever had their post pulled from here also received a notice from the Mod in their mailbox explaining why the post was pulled.
It wasn't me. In a way, I hope it was one of us because I would hate for random pillagers to be raiding our little house. Let me do some further sleuthing. Ani.

Hi Sally.
I have only just read your posting. It takes some time to learn by trial and error this h2g2 thing. In addition I just returned home yesterday afternoon from Up North in Black Bear country where we have a cottage. We spent five days there. It is lovely country with a Lake where we are , but dull - there is only one TV channel that we can get and as we rent it we don't feel like spending money on satellite TV. The people who rent are not there to watch TV much, they are there to get to Bancroft, or Algonquin Park or Silent Lake Park and use the cottage as a resting place. They also have a dock provided by us and rent a motor boat as a rule from a nearby Marina on the lake.
Anyway, I am willing to make friends even though we may have different religious views etc. It doesn't matter and I will drop in here occasionally. Thanks for the welcome Sally and Tim too.
Key: Complain about this post
