A Conversation for 'Star Wars' - the Films
Episodes 7, 8, & 9?
Gopher Posted May 17, 2000
I agree whole heartedly. They started a pattern. There was Star Wars (A New Hope). then (Star Wars) The Empire Strikes Back, then (Star Wars) Return of the Jedi. They should stick with the pattern. But No!!! The idiots in Lucasfilm's marketing department call it: Star Wars Episode One The Phantom Menace, all in one breath! It is ridiculous!

Absolutely no. I like Star Wars and Phantom Menace is also a good movie, but 7, 8 and 9...? Doesn't sound so good. I suppose they couldn't make a real characters for the movies. For example, Darth Maul in PM. He looks cool and everything but dies way too easily. Besides he doesn't speak. Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear...
Hopefully Lucas understands the fact and quits doing Star Wars movies after III. Nothing more to say.
But...
DARTH VADER IS THE KING!
And...
MAY THE DARK SIDE OF THE FORCE BE WITH YOU!!!

Same to you. I'll try to win the stupid, too difficult to use for me programme and give you and Elina the notes of Duel of the Fates (it's a master piece)

Darth Maul didn't die that easily - you'd be knackered too if you'd been fighting for that long. And he didn't speak because he was evil and sinister and didn't need to speak. I read a good point somewhere that Darth Maul would make a good library supervisor - he doesn't talk much and no-one would ever return a book late.

I take it that you like Boba Fett too? The only line: "He is no good to me dead." A character should talk... But you can debate about that with M... She's very good in it...
That library-thing is pretty good...

there aren't going to be episodes 7,8, OR 9. Sorry to burst anyone's bubble, but I speak only the truth.

Don't be evil! The only reason that Lucas started with episode three in the first place is because the character Luke Skywalker was actually first supposed to be a young THX-1138 (and if you were all paying attention in "George Lucas, 101" like you were supposed to, you would know this.), who is a characher (in fact, the MAIN character, and the one the movie was named for...) in Lucas's first movie. So THERE!!!! *blows raspberry*

If character doesn't speak, how you can know anything about him/her? Maul doesn't have any kind of past he just comes, hangs around with lightsaber and dies. He's Muuli. =) (if you don't know what's the word in English you should ask Alien, because she has a dictionary with her)
Besides, what I mean with "Maul died too easily", is that George Lucas shouldn't have killed him in the first episode. I would have prefered the fight between Anakin (or Darth?) and Maul. =)
HOOORRAY! No 7,8 and 9!!!! I love you all!!!
Have a nice day called "Speak and you're dead"!!

I read that George Lucas original plot for Episode 9 got merged into Return of the Jedi, and that in the original draft of "Return" Han was going to die.
I still wonder if Grand Moff Tarkin is going to turn up in episodes 2 & 3. I mean, he is never really explained. He is more powerful than Vader in "A New Hope", and Vader is just an average baddie - not the all-in-charge second only to the Emperor he is seen as in "Empire" and "Return". In "New Hope" he is described as "the last follower of that ancient religion" (not exact quote, the speach starts with "Don't frighten us with your sorcerer's ways..."). So why is Tarkin so powerful when he isn't a Sith, and why is Vader described as the last, when everyone should be aware of the Emperor and his power.
By the way, there are some good Star Wars jokes here:

But it's too late. The movie has been seen and everyone knows that Maul doesn't speak. Maybe he can't. Well he can. But what if he can't talk only one word for each day. And then he's saving them to say something cool. Which remidns me. Why did he say "At last we will..."? There's no connection between this sentence and Maul's and Sidious's discussion!!! Stupid Maul...

*lol*
actually, i dissagree. i think that perhaps he has nothing to say to stupid, underdeveloped humanoid jedi (or anyone else for that matter,)so he decides that it's best only to speak when absolutely nesseccery.
female darth maul lovers, go here! it's absoballylutely hillarious!!!

Me...? I'm from Vaderium. Really.
Well, if Maul didn't want to say anything stupid, he should have said nothing. He's missing a piece of his tongue...or brains. Why didn't they use droid as Maul, he doesn't do anything by himself, but he's told to do all kind of things. "Kill this jedi." "*beeb* Yes, my master. *beeb*" "Do the laundry." "*beeb* Yes, my master. *beeb*".
I admit, he's quite interesting person, but still, STUPID!!!
*beeb* Have a nice day! *beeb*

I must admit that that would have been more practical. *smiles* You are a silly sort. BUT! It would have ben less interesting. They needed a villain with a certain quality of... life. And/or personality. He wasn't given may lines (duh, we ALL know that,) so they had to give him something destinct. Hence, the red and black markings on his face.
Now I think the next question should be, are they tattoos, a species-related thng, or just a personal (and slightly ...deranged...?) quirk?

I admit something, too. There was already plenty of things made by/with computer so another one would have been too much.
They're tattoos, aren't they? I could check from the page, but I'm too lazy for that.
Guess who's going to the new Anakin's home country!!! Oh, it's already written there. But anyway... ME!!!!!!
I understand why people are interested in Maul. Because he doesn't say anything, you can't know anything about him, and that makes him mysterious. And interesting. But my heart is already given to someone else in these movies and he'll have my heart until the day I die.
I've thought painting some pictures of him on the walls...

OK
In case anyone still cares, episodes 7,8 and 9 are set about 30-40 years after Return of the jedi. Each trilogy deals with one generation of the skywalker line. However, Old Georgie says he won't be making the films, and won't release his preliminary scripts.
TPM was poo. Officially. But I reckon that the next one will be better: there's a story, Lucas wont direct (I think), the script will be better, people will be more critical, and Jar jar binks be so annoying(he'll still be in it though)
