ahhhh! Sally! Ian! Tim! Dai! I have missed the end of the world. Yea though I took it upon myself to post on the ctmb, I was late. And my post was late. Everything about me, late. And yea though I beat my breast, rend my raiment, and clutch at my hair, I am remain in a state of lateness. Right then. See you tomorrow. Ani.

I'm so glad I remembered it, imagine the egg on my face if it had passed me by smiley - run

It was quieter than I expected, a bit of a disappointment if truth be told.

I love this place, despite being a fan of DA it is so much funkier than the CTMB. I look forward to getting involved, is it considered bad form to continue/refer to posts on the CTMB? I wouldn't want to embarass myself in front of my new friends smiley - erm

Speak to ya soon
Andy

Andy. Re your poignant question <>:

Er, form? I don't think we have any form over here. We just hang about in a state of formlessness with a bit of brew from Heavy and the Hipster once in a while.

But I dissemble. People have had different reasons for declaring refugee status. The common denominator, however, has been the CTMB Mods. The Mods over here don't seem to mind at all if we use furrin languages. Why only the other day, Ian used 'totis viribis' in a sentence. And nothing happened. The world didn't end.

Which has me thinking that the world might only end on the CTMB. Perhaps the Mods will ride in on a cloud.

Having said all of that, I must qualify as follows: Tim will be mighty hurt if none of us step forward to play Mornington Crescent. Wot with all the risks he has taken on the CTMB. I am sure Dai also will want to contribute; but he has to figure out how to get to refugee headquarters first. So far he hasn't got past the 'home again home again jiggedy jig' message I left for him ages ago. (We spoil him)

And oh yes: there was talk a while back of setting up our own board. Sally and Tim might want to speak to that. Ani.

Hello JontheFarmer,

Welcome. Don't worry, I don't think anyone else has got the hang of it, either. We just muddle along happily though. smiley - biggrin

Howdy JontheFarmer. Good on ya for finding your way to safe haven. Dia duit. Cen chaoi a bhfuil tu? You'll find Tim and Ian to be very helpful and happy as far as brewing your own beer goes. And if you tire of that, well you know what they say: ni neart go Guinness. (which translated for you Ian is: Guinness viribis)

Navigation: Now at the top of my little post here, you'll find some googly eyes and, beside the googly eyes, my link. Click on my link. That will get you to my space. Scroll down my space. That will get you to my 'list of friends' which is actually The Book of Names. Click on each of those. That will get you to their spaces. At the top right of each space is an 'add to friends' or some such thing. Click on those. That will make navigation much easier.

In the threads: At the top of the thread you will see a row of buttons. One will be white. The others red. The white one is the page of the thread on which you find yourself currently. You will probably want the most recent page; so click on the red button to the far right.

Goals. Well, we seem to have forgone goals until more refugees arrived. Nevertheless, you might want to peruse the 'More refugees?' thread.

One very important goal is to amuse Tim by playing Mornington Crescent from time to time. Having said that, not a single game has ensued. I am not sure who knows how to play Mornington Crescent. Dai certainly does; but he hasn't figured out how to navigate yet. He is still trapped in the 'home again home again jiggedy jig' thread. Ian seems to know about the Victoria, Circle, and District Lines on the London Underground. He also knows about the Pascal Pinion and the Descartes Doubleback moves to render opponents temporarily motionless. I don't know about Andy. I myself am nothing more than a Mornington Crescent poseur. (poseuse actually)

Form: Andy asks if it is proper form to refer to things on the Christian Topic Message Board (henceforth CTMB). We have no form yet. We are formless. However, we frequently do refer to events on the CTMB.

People have orienteered themselves over here for different reasons. But the common denominator seems to be the 'fishy' moderation on the CTMB. Over here at h2g2 we can use furrin frazes like lex orandi lex credendi or even gaelic (as appears above) and nobody bothers to persecute us. So far we are a cosy little group. We don't want to be so cosy, however, that everyone agrees with each other all the time. Sally and I agree that shut-down artists must be avoided. I would take issue with hate-posters too. But, since, they tend generally to be shut-down artists, I think Sally and I are reading from the same page.

Slan agat. Ani.

I propose that we have a Parade on the ctmb to celebrate our survival of the end of the world. People can describe and explain their individual floats and (of course) the Underground Stations by which they are passing. Who is up for it? Ani. smiley - tongueout

OK. I got this far, but I don't know where I am or how to get to wherever it is I want to go.

And I'm not ashamed to admit it.

Yes I am.

Help!

Hey Eliezer! Lucky I found you! Just heading off to the University of Google and thought I would drop in for a frappuccino. And there you are! Only a fellah from Mizzoorah would be awake. The folk across the pond are likely sound asleep unless they are partying.

Now we haven't been around for a few days. We are up to something. Let me get back to my leaders and respond with something encouraging. Oh mystery! I'm such a terrible secret keeper.

Hang in thar Mister Mizzorah. The cavalry's on thar way. Don't move now. No no. Just stay here. Toodle-oo til later, Ani.

Hi Eliezer,

Welcome to our little haven.

That Ani, she can't keep a secret, can she? But I can ... smiley - winkeye

If you want to explore, the lists of people's friends are quite a good way.
Or typing random words into the search box can be quite fun smiley - biggrin

See you soon

Hi Ani/Eliezer et al

I know what you mean about time. What was that John Lennon line? 'Life is what happens while we're planning what to do', something like that anyway.

Some interesting stuff on the CTMB today including a MOD message - we are not worthy.

Still some posting time left...I'll be back

Andy

Hello Andy. It wasn't a Mod (red). It was a Host (blue). Ha! They left my post on about the goose in Wawa. It doesnt get more specific in the entire world! But the beeb does have a point and the Host was very well spoken, eloquent even. Which is quite refreshing. Good to see that the wedding went off well. Ani.

Hey Ani,

There was a mod post over the weekend (on a thread about the school). I was quite disappointed actually. It wasn't blue or red :o(
