I've tried and tried and tried - even Daughter with a maths Degree has tried (mind you, she didn't realise it had to be in the right order) why can't I make 810554 into 42?

Erm... sorry to butt in, but can someone explain the above? I know in hootoo terms 42 is a significant number, but what are you calculating with to get it?
Am I incredibly thick? Probably......... or most likely senility is setting in!

Yours is easy: -22+64x1x1=42
It's your usernumber (digits have to be in the order of appearance) transformed to a mathematical term which has 42 as its result.

I'm sure you'd have worked it out for yourself, but i wasn't sure I'd be able to explain it comprehensibly, lack of words, sometimes.

Know what you mean about being unsure if I can explain things clearly. *I* know what I mean, but words often leave my brain in one form and come out of my mouth, or on to the keyboard, in an entirely different order and meaning!

Hmmm, not easy. I can do it with two functions: the trigonometrical function ARCTAN, and the square root function SQRT:
ARCTAN(2 + 0 - 1) + 8 - SQRT(9) - 8 = 42
ARCTAN here takes an argument in degrees, of course, not radians.
There may be an easier way, of course...

And I've just realised your U-number is 210898, not 201898!
ARCTAN(2 - 1 - 0) + 8 - SQRT(9) - 8 = 42
That makes other, simpler solutions more likely. I'll have a think...
