Edward the Bonobo - Gone.

We had a lovely afternoon at the National Museum of Rural Life (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Museum_of_Rural_Life), where we often take my father-in-law for lunch. It's only about 1.5 mi down the road.

They had an amazing touring Wildlife Photography exhibition. http://www.nhm.ac.uk/visit-us/whats-on/temporary-exhibitions/wpy/onlineGallery.do

Absolutely stunning! Have a look at the '10 years and under' category.

My favourites? In approximately reverse order:

3. Chimpanzees tearing apart a bush pig:

2. Man with whale:

1. Polar bear:

But I could list plenty others, too. Have a browse!

Oh...wait...I have to post this stunning-but-disturbing one:

Plus E's school pal turned up and I made an origami frog.

I'm off to the NHM this October. Day out in London and then to a debate with Christopher Hitchens in the evening, followed by a mad dash back to Derbyshire on the last train out.

No, never listened to that - off to download now - should make for good snooze preparation. I find I tend to drift off with something on in the background. I think it's the act of concentrating or imagining that does it. Anyway early night for this ostrich, off to college tomorrow for induction into applied science and forensics.

I might be able to smuggle in a digital reorder if you ask nicely.

Can guarantee much on the quality though, but it should be audible enough.

I did some at the BHA conference - which I've just discovered mediafire have deleted the hosting for - so never mind that.

Oh...I wouldn't have thought smuggling was necessary. These days such events tend to have a Grateful Dead attitude towards recording.

smiley - shrug I put my university lectures on YT.

The Fry-Hitchens debate on BBC is described as 'though-provoking'.

Maria

I love the pictures, except the roasted monkey smiley - run

Look at this. They are pictures taken from the sky. It´s the Marismas, in the natural park of Doñana, at the southwest of Andalucia. They are fractals.

The exhibit can be seen in the Sciences Park of Granada. It has a review in the New York Times as one of the most interesting places to visit in Europe.smiley - coolIn terms of science.
