Stuff about means of production does relate to the books, e.g. the use of Uderzo's thumb prints for storm clouds in Great Crossing. A lot of what I've got is about the books; the rest is about the authors, but it doesn't run to reams of detail. I think much of the problem is: which bits do we want for the Entry, and how much can we afford to draw on the Complete Guide? Trouble is, it's awkward trying to answer those questions when I'm the only one who can see what information I have. I suppose I could put one of my e-mail addresses up, and take requests, but I'd sooner have everything in the open if possible.

Right. While I'm back at home for a few days, and therefore have my book with me again, does anyone want to have another go at developing this, or shall we wait until the distractions of Yuletide are over?

I'd like to have time to do something on this, but I really don't think I will. If anyone would like to take it over, please feel free. I'd be happy to contribute something, though.

Having thought about it, I'm going to give it a go; I already have that file, so I can rework some stuff. I don't know how much time I'll have to spend on it, but I should be able to produce something.

Sorry for butting in, but I was reading the convo and it occured to me that a sort of table or chart comparing the English and French names of the characters would be a good idea. They're different in other languages, too; my Latin edition of 'Asterix in Britain' has completely different character names than either the French or English editions. I shall, perhaps, given time, compile something of the sort. Don't get your hopes up, though. I will try, but I'm not promising I'll remember to do it or anything.

I started working on doing the Entry, and did include some stuff in name comparisons. But progress has stalled during the university term (i.e. for another five weeks).

I'm back from Limboland...
Anything you need urgently from me while I've still got some [little] free time?

Not urgently, no. I'm hoping I'll be able to finish putting together the stuff from the Complete Guide and contribute that after the end of term (18th March).

Did this project progress at all?

I thought it only fair to tell you that I am doing a University Project on the Animated Asterix films - more information can be seen here: A72220420.
So far I have done 'Asterix The Gaul' and 'Asterix And Cleopatra'.
When I've finished, it still leaves over 40 Asterix comic books, game books, Dogmatix books for children, the theme park, merchandising, general history etc to write about, though.
