Alpha Centauri is also a bizzarre alien creature, from the planet(sic) of the same name, with a large green pea for a head, one eye, and a yellow curtain for a body. He/she/it (it was, as that know-it-all Pertwee said, a "hermaphradite hexapod") appeared in two Doctor Who stories in the early 70's. And it had a voice like the twiggy things from the Rupert Bear TV programme.
