Hello, cal darling!
Yes, safe, sound, and all things considered, generally marvelous!
I live about 65 miles NW of New Orleans, so other than some trees down from the wind, and no electricity for three days, I faired pretty well.
But my city has now doubled in population from the evacuees, all of the national and international news media have set up camp here, and this is the center of operations for the recovery effort.
And the President has been here three times in two weeks!
And there's been the steady pounding of huge military helicopters overhead, constantly streaming in and out between here and New Orleans.
And my heart aches for the city and it's people...
