It was on telly in a pub where I was having lunch. No sound. No subtitles. I have no idea what was happening, but it did have a few pretty boys in it.

Me and Clive could guide you around the wonders of fit blokes in bad soaps: we went through a bit of a spree last year.

I don't really do celebrity crushes, but I wouldn't Kick Dr Iain Stewart the BBC4 Geologist out of bed.

On behalf of my country, I apologise for Neighbours. And for all the others, if it comes to that.
The various fit blokes, on the other hand, require no apology from anyone. There are some things that help one to overlook the plot and the dialogue and the acting and the sets.

Well, the plot and dialogue didn't trouble me, because I have no idea what they were. And the sets seemed okay in the bits I saw. Not that I was really looking much at the sets, to be honest.

Australian soaps...
I got sucked into Prisoner Cell Block H for a while, must have been about 15 year or 20 years ago when it was shown on ITV at 11pm on Thursday nights, after 01 For London.
That really dates it cos London ain't been 01 for a very long time.

>>Prisoner Cell Block H
Was it really called that over there? Here it was just known as Prisoner, and was in a class of its own . We used to wag intermediate school to watch that (it was on after lunch). That puts it in the late 70s.

...Thereby proving the point that kids will do *anything* to miss school!
I think the reason it wasn't just called "Prisoner" here was to avoid confusion with the surreal, sinister http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Prisoner .

True KB, but I never needed any encouragement to wag
We had The Prisoner here too, but maybe they thought it was a different demographic and weren't so worried here (I watched both myself, but I assume it was reruns of The Prisoner, hadn't it finished by the late 70s?).
