I'm just one of the many assistant community editors here. We pop in on recent registrants like yourself, not only to greet & welcome you, but provide you with some tips for getting around the site (& yes, we try to be as gentle as possible! ) Could I offer you a , , , or anything? It gives simple instructions for using/creating each one & you'll be able to refer back to it at any time by typing smileys into the search window.

For decorating your space a bit, you know giving it that personal touch, you should look at 'spicing up your page'@ A690518 , or there's 'the picture gallery'@ A692741 . Another option is 'the GuideML clinic', which I've been told isn't all that difficult if you've done any HTML, that's@ A187229 .

Some of my ACE colleagues have compiled lists of links designed to assist new researchers. Something new, since Feisor suggests getting out & meeting people, is the recently established Drinkers Club for new researchers@ A2215450 . You'll be able to meet other recent registrants & perhaps find some new friends.

In any case, take your time going over all those links & having a good look around - there's certainly plenty to see here. You'll find this's quite a friendly place, so I don't imagine you'll have any trouble settling in. I missed this until now, good to recieve such a prompt reply happyhappygirl (& nice to meet you!)...if you mean you like either Jazz or East Indian cooking -or both-, then yes, we have a fair bit in common.
