I've said before, the key point of managers is that they don't.
Not people,
Not the job,
Not senior managers.
Zip, nada, zilch!
Once they get above a certain level (not doing any work that the rest of us do) even those you once held in high regard fall into line.
Worse still is the pay off when they've finaly been shown up for what they are.
Our chairman just got busted. He got a 5 million declared payoff, plus "enhancements". Curiously they've been trying to kill off our 10 full shift workers for years. He just got a cash payout that is more than all 10 will earn in a lifetime! And he doesn't face the threat of gasing, fire, explosion, exposure to a cocktail of chemicals.
I'd suggest he was born out of wedlock, but that would be unfair to all the natural B*stards like myself. Mine is a consequence of birth, his of just being one!
Ah! That's better. Axe well and truely embedded! Can't you tell I'm back in?
I'll check out the jelly later, i'm begining to feel peckish!

You too, huh? They suggested I might like to take the step up higher. But although I get the extra grade and few quid a year more, I loose. I loose shift allowance and overtime-if I can get it- and penalty payments and anti social hours payments. I reckon I earn more a year than he does. Then it's 9 to 5 Monday to Friday. God that would drive me up the bl***y wall.
Listened to your rant, and any time you want to let loose by all means use me. I know what it's like.

Just a rant about managers.
Bit of excitment on way to work. Fella jumps on to bus says he wants to go to next stop, but has no money. Big shouting row takes place, he finally gets off. But it was interesting to watch. One stop, He could have walked it in a few minutes.

I Know what you mean about upgrades. It's exactly the same for me. The last time I worked it out it would take around 7 years to break even.
Had a shock yesterday. Because I went back into work for an hour between 2 twelve hour day shifts, I've been given some vouchers! You don't think he's reading my entries, do you?

Just do one that says what a really smashing bloke he is and see what happens. Alternatively you could do one saying what a S**T he is and see what happens.
The manager doesn't get overtime. If he has to stay late it's not counted as they say it's all part of the job.
Anyway a clerk has just returned from the canteen with teas. So shall sit here and watch the TV and sip tea for five minutes.

No overtime but I bet his pay is "enhanced" to compensate him for his "unsociable" hours. Funny how that doesn't include nights, weekends, bankholidays and birthdays.
Neat article is on how those sent on to create a "node" (latest in word) in Siberia usually jump 2 job groups. Then it'll only take 3 years to break even .

Well I'm still here 21:15, should have left at 21;00, but the relief's bus is delayed. I won't get paid any extra for this. They say it's all part of my job. I guess so, as when they come in early I leave early. So you could say it's swings and roundabouts. Depends whom you are waiting for. Which memeber of staff it is.There's always the ones that takes liberties.

With you on that one. Tuesdays 12 hrs turned into 13.5 hrs.
Tonite should be a "normal" 12 ie 12.5 with handover.

Thursday evening Cole, my lady friend, and I took two friends for a meal, Bob & Ann. We went to a Harvester. When we left it was chucking down with snow. I just couldn't believe it. The following morning, Friday, the garden was white. My dog loves the snow. I detest it. But still we'd had a good evening.

Glad you enjoyed your evening.
We've had snow, but not enough to stick. I usually like snow but the pups have yet to experience fallen snow (they seen it snowing, but not had much on the ground).
Could be fun when it snows properly. 2 white dogs plus snow equals total carnage. Only plus is Ds two black eye patches, but he's hardest to recall (even treats don't work, he has to be conned).
I'm having a quiet w/end. No partner, just the pups and an occassional beverage.

My dog loves the snow. She is like a puppy once again. She runs along collecting it on her nose, then flicks it in the air and tries to catch it in her mouth.

That's the stuff. It's all gone now, thank heavens. It's all very well on Christmas cards, and that's where it should stay. I can understand if your son is young that he likes it. I did as a child. We built snowmen and had snow ball fights. But as I'm very unceratin on my pins, snow is not a good thing for me. Especially when I have an excited dog pulling on it's lead and the walking stick skids on the snow.
Summers on the way, and the sun will caress my aches away. I live for the sun.
